Residents of the Qalaa Mgouna region of Morocco's Atlas Mountains welcome the season of roses in bloom, with a festival filled with bright colors and fragrant aromas that exude from the region's roses.
Roses have long played an important role in the lives of the inhabitants of the Qala'a Mgouna region in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco, so a review of the local culture and legacies of the region is the most important feature of the festival in the its fifty-third session.
The Festival of the Roses is the second oldest festival in Morocco after the Festival of the Cherries in Sefrou, and celebrates the harvest season of Damas roses, the main product of this region.
The festival is characterized by many events and bands, as well as the beauty of logic, which compete for the title of “Miss Rose Festival”.
The region annually produces between 20 and 40 thousand tons of roses, an amount that plays an important role in the region's economy.
